Provide Healing Resources for Survivors

Why This Partnership Matters

Survivors are frequently encouraged to journal as part of their healing journey, yet most crisis centers and advocacy organizations do not have journals available to provide. We are closing that gap by ensuring survivors leave with more than just advice. They leave with a tool for recovery.

By working together we create stronger networks of support, ensuring that survivors receive consistent care whether they are seeking immediate crisis intervention or long-term healing resources. Our distribution efforts deliver journals directly to the places survivors seek help, including hospitals, police stations, crisis centers, and community organizations.

Who We Partner With

Hospitals and medical facilities including emergency rooms, sexual assault nurse examiner programs, and trauma centers. Crisis centers and advocacy organizations including domestic violence shelters, sexual assault advocacy programs, and crisis hotlines. Law enforcement and legal services including police stations, victim advocacy programs, and legal aid services. Community and support groups including nonprofits, peer-led survivor support groups, and faith-based programs.

Ways We Can Work Together

Journal Distribution. We provide free journals to organizations serving survivors so they can be distributed at the point of first contact when journaling is recommended as a healing tool.

Community Awareness. We work with community partners to raise awareness about the benefits of journaling and how it supports trauma recovery for survivors.

Resource Connection. We connect survivors with additional support services beyond journaling, including career development resources through The Next Chapter program.

Let's Make Healing More Accessible

At The 1st 28 Foundation, we believe healing starts with having the right tools. Survivors are often advised to journal as a way to process trauma, but too often they are left without the very resource they need to begin.

We are changing that.

By partnering with hospitals, crisis centers, police stations, advocacy organizations, and support groups, we ensure that survivors receive a free journal at the moment they are encouraged to write. We are actively seeking organizations, programs, and facilities that serve survivors to join our distribution network.
